It is never too late to become who you were meant to be.
I lived most of my life stepping through doors that were opened for me based upon my specific experience set. Once on the other side of the door, I always found a path to success, service, value creation, and happiness. I have been extremely fortunate. But it wasn’t until recently, when I grasped a door handle, opened it and stepped out that I realized how many doors I had unintentionally locked.
The locks on these many undiscovered doors were created by my own restrictive thinking, that my professional contribution was limited to my explicit experience set. Yet as an executive I gave so much more than the sum total of my work experience. What made me unique and successful were the moments that I could bring my whole self to my job, and that often times was unexpected given my role as CFO.
Embarking on a journey of self-awareness, I was able to find the key to unlock a new door and transform myself and my thinking. Once able to open that new door, with my newfound expanded perspective I could step through, and can now freely pursue my dream come true. No boundaries. No limits. No regrets.
What restrictions have you created for yourself? What doors have you locked yourself out of? Imagine for a moment… what could happen if you were able to open the door and escape? It is never too late.
